Muscular yet seamless, elegant yet dense and plush, the cassis and black cherry-scented 2002 Echezeaux is a fabulous effort. Its satin-textured, medium to full-bodied personality bursts with black cherries, spices, and blackberries. This seductive wine is already a hedonist’s dream yet there’s no reason to believe it won’t stand the test of time. - WA

Aromas of black cherry and blackberry burst forth to introduce this rich, round Pinot, then the wall of tannins takes over. Though impressive, it lacks integration, and there are a lot of tannins to be absorbed. - WS
