    As is often the case, La Tâche seems a perfect nexus of ripeness, accessibility, and power. The surprisingly open aromas of ripe black cherries and mulberry are complemented by hints of violets, liquorice, and sweet Asian spices. The texture is also approachable, with impressive density given depth by firm tannic grip and bright acidity that draw the wine to a lingering finish. La Tâche 2011 is starting to open already and will easily charm for another thirty years. (CC) - DC
